What is a British Record for Sharks?

To claim a British Record for a shark, it must be physically weighed on land which requires the shark to be killed and brought ashore.

The last successful British Record claim was made in 2010.

The introduction of the SACGB policy of Catch and Release meant that the SACGB has now ceased to award British Records.

In place of British Records the SACGB introduced the British Measured and Released Records in 2017.
