Full Membership 

Catch and release a qualifying shark within UK waters. Applications for membership must be made within twelve months of the catch. A witnesses signature is required and any photographic or video evidence must be submitted.

The minimum membership qualifying lengths are given below.

Qualifying Length

A qualifying Blue Shark must be a minimum of 70″ from nose to fork of tail.

A qualifying Thresher Shark must be a minimum of 48″ from nose to fork of tail

A qualifying Porbeagle Shark must be a minimum of 55″ from nose to fork of tail

A qualifying Mako Shark must be a minimum of 58″ from nose to fork of tail

Associate Membership

Join and catch and release a shark in UK waters within 12 months of your application to upgrade to full membership

Witness

Your application form must be witnessed by the skipper of the boat or a club member

Photograph

A photograph of the shark in profile along with a measuring tape or other easily visible measuring device is preferred to accompany your application

Joining Fee – £20

Fill in the form online  Join now! or download a copy of the Membership form. The joining fee includes your first year subscription, up to December of that year.

Annual subscription – £20 Due each January

Once your application has been approved you will receive a member certificate, membership card, rule book and a lapel badge.

Transfer from associate member to full member, once a qualifying shark is caught and released, is free.

Full Skipper Membership 

By invitation from the Committee of the SACGB. Joining fee £10. Full member benefits.
