Fishermans Protection Trophy
Awarded annually to the Skipper Member of the boat catching the most sharks in one day (one day meaning a normal 8-9 hour trip) – Looe only
This trophy was originally donated by The Looe Fishermans Protection Society , however at the committee meeting of 30th September 1970 it was agreed to discontinue the trophy due its poor condition and also that the Looe Fishermans Protection Society no longer existed.
At a meeting on the 27th October 1971 the secretary requested permission to dispose of the trophy due to its condition. Mr Heathman said he would like to use it as a flower vase at the Hannafore Point Hotel. The committee agreed and Mr Heathman said he would have the cup re-plated
Its not clear if that actually took place or if this is the original cup
